Kicking it in New Hampshire.

So, after four days in New York and a night at the greatest concert in history, we've finally made it to New Hampshire. We're staying in the White Mountains (which are probably white in the winter, but are green, red, and yellow this time of year). We've been doing lots of shopping (no tax, you know), enjoying the fact that beer and wine are a fraction of the price of Canadian equivents, and just enjoying the slower pace. Also, we've traded the view of concrete, skyscrapers, and lights for something a little more natural.

A taste of NYC.

During our last day in NYC, we decided to seek out the culinary delight which New York is famous for. Cheesecake. Our adventure took us to two different shops, both of which had received high ratings from the New York Times as being the best cheesecake in the city. The first place we visited was Eileen's Special Cheesecake which is a quaint little bakery located in SoHo (http://www.eileenscheesecake.com/). Here we sampled mini versions of their strawberry and rocky road cakes. Later, we stopped by the Carnigie Deli near Times Square ( http://www.carnegiedeli.com/) to taste their cheesecake delights. These sweet treats were delightfully delicious, and it is worth noting that both of these shops offer overnight cheesecake delivery anywhere in the USA.

Bye Bye, New York.

We were up bright... er...dark and early to catch our shuttle from our hotel (the Hilton Garden Inn on 35th) to Newark airport. The drive was about three times faster to the airport than it was to the hotel on Thursday. Bye bye, New York. Anytime I see or smell someone grilling beef on the street, I'll think of you. Our flight was good and quick, as was our drive from Portland to our hotel for the U2 concert tonight. Really excited for it!

Car bum.

We drove about 900km today. Left at about 9:00 from Charlottetown, and arrived to our day one destination about 13 hours later. Longer than it should take, yes, but we enjoyed the day. We both have car bum. Highlights included getting across the border without having the car ripped apart, discovering that a medium coffee at Tim Hortons in the States is the same size as our large, and eating at Olive Garden for supper in Bangor. Tomorrow, NYC!
